A Unified System for Consolidating NetMRI Data
A consolidated database of network analysis and information is a proven way to remove silos of disconnected information, ensure maximum network uptime, improve communication among network managers, and reduce finger pointing. Used in conjunction with NetMRI network analysis products, the NetMRI Operations Center is a unified system for analyzing and troubleshooting enterprise networks. This real-time system provides flexible reporting across a vast number of network elements, and raises issues based on analysis of all managed devices.
Aggregation Point for Multiple NetMRI Deployments
NetMRI is the industry-leading, proactive network analysis solution for networks comprised of up to 2,000 devices. With the Operations Center, NetMRI can scale to support larger networks with up to 20,000 network devices.
The NetMRI Operations Center supports several management organizational approaches, from centralized to fully distributed, or a mix of both. The dynamic, unified system lets you define overall device groups, which span multiple NetMRI systems, generate reports, and drill down to the details of each group.
NetMRI devices may be distributed geographically, by division, or by functional area. The NetMRI Operations Center can span and roll up the desired information from any of these deployment scenarios by the creation of logical device groups, which you can easily define through a drag-and-drop approach.
Flexible Management
Information domains and networks may span across different business divisions, and even across countries and continents. Making sense of the silos of information from a broad range of network sources can be especially difficult when different parts of the network support the same overall business. To solve this problem, the Operations Center collects data from distributed NetMRI products and allows network managers to organize and view the data across many different information domains (e.g., Routers, Operations Departments, Hot Spots, etc.). Reports can be created and issues detected across multiple NetMRI data collection engines, simplifying issue detection and troubleshooting.
Scalability and Control
The NetMRI Operations Center’s custom reporting and diagnostic capabilities work equally well for networks with one or multiple NetMRI appliances. The NetMRI system now scales to extremely large networks, with a mixture of local, regional, and international appliances unified into one system. Device groupings with specific logins allow local and regional control across NetMRI domains.
Analysis
Configuration Analysis
Manual configuration changes cause the majority of today’s network problems. The ability to detect these changes and monitor network element settings across a large number of devices can save time and go a long way toward ensuring that networks are up and can meet the demands of the business. The NetMRI Operations Center detects changes and monitors settings by collecting configuration settings from all distributed NetMRI databases and giving you a single point of view across the whole network.
Historical Analysis
The Operations Center allows you to view data over time, which can be key to examining a network’s evolution and growth. The NetMRI Operations Center now allows you to run historical analysis reports on the collected information in its database.
Powerful Ad Hoc Search Capability
NetMRI collects useful information from the network, and creates more valuable information in the form of analysis. With the NetMRI Operations Center, you can search the database of information simply and easily, in a manner similar to popular search engines. With minimal effort, you can now find that one device, determine a specific configuration setting in multiple devices, or discover quickly how a particular device is connected.

The NetMRI Operations Center provides a central aggregation point and reporting system for multiple NetMRI deployments.
Reporting
Flexible Reporting
More data points are not necessarily better if you can’t make sense of them. The NetMRI Operations Center lets you create audience-based reports showing only the information an individual or group of individuals needs to see on a regular basis. You can also develop and implement custom diagnostics to query the distributed NetMRI databases, creating custom views or reports. These results can, in turn, be sent automatically via email to a network engineer for further investigation.
Advanced Troubleshooting
Having a central data repository enhances the Operations Center’s capability to analyze data across a larger data set and lets network managers create custom scenarios to complement the many problem scenarios already built into NetMRI.
Variables for creating reports include the ability to select the time period, information domain, and the result set. Rows can be filtered, columns rearranged, and results edited interactively. Just a few clicks will generate a browser display, a report, and an issue or system notification. Network managers can run these selections immediately, delay them, or choose to run them on a periodic basis.
Restrictive Login
While the NetMRI Operations Center offers a single point of view for all NetMRI products, you can set user-based profiles to ensure that the right support team has access to the right level of information in NetMRI. Linking managed services with the people that support these services ensures greater security and confidentiality.
